At Ibis Styles Port Macquarie our environmental aims are to reduce the hotel’s environmental footprint by implementing sustainable practices that minimise energy and water consumption, reduce waste sent to landfill, and protect the surrounding coastal environment, while maintaining exceptional guest experiences and progressing towards recognised environmental certification.

- Composting food wastage
- Managing portion control at buffet to reduce waste

Maintenance
- Transition to energy efficient lighting
- Setting air-conditioners to efficient range: 20-26 degrees
- Preventative maintenance (monthly and quarterly)
- Ensure storm water drains are flowing efficiently and not contaminated
- Waste management: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
- Consulting with management in regards energy efficiency monitoring
Front Office / Administration
- Implement Accor Skip the clean initiative
- Promote digital receipts
- No print policy
- Monthly monitoring of waste management volume and energy levels
- Promote environmentally sustainable initiatives, both locally and nationally
- Invite guests to participate in Take 3 for the Sea
- Encourage guests to be aware when purchasing merchandise or gifts that they are not from rare or threatened species.
- Encourage guests to enjoy the benefits of the north-easterly breeze from ocean view rooms to reduce reliance on air conditioning
